First Fun Run, First 10K: My Women’s Run PH Davao Experience
First Fun Run, First 10K: My Women’s Run PH Davao Experience
I signed up for Women’s Run PH Davao around the last week of November, very casually, like, “Okay, let’s see how this goes.” I picked the 10K category, even though I wasn’t exactly a runner.
First Fun Run, Straight to 10K
I’m not a runner. I don’t train like one, I don’t talk like one, and I definitely don’t look like one when I’m gasping for breath. But somehow, when I registered, 10K felt right.
Before race day, I did a test run. Just to see if I could actually finish 10 kilometers within the 2-hour cut-off. I asked around, got some encouragement, and thought, “Okay, this might be doable.”
Fast forward to January 18, race day in Davao.
I showed up a little sleepy, a little excited, and surrounded by women who all looked like they knew exactly what they were doing. The vibe was light, with no pressure and no intimidation, just good energy all around.
The Very Real KM-by-KM Experience
I ran, I slowed down, I walked when I needed to, and no one cared.
What Made Women’s Run PH Davao So Fun
What I loved most about Women’s Run PH was how relaxed it felt. Everyone did their own thing. Some ran fast, some took it easy, some stopped for photos. No one was rushing anyone. No one was judging.
In Davao, the whole event felt warm and welcoming. It truly was a fun run in the best sense of the word.
First Run, Personal Best
Women’s Run PH Davao ended up being the perfect first fun run experience for me. I signed up months ahead, tested my limits, showed up on race day, and surprised myself with a personal best.
Not bad for a first-timer.
And yes, this definitely won’t be my last run 😉
Thank You
A little thank you to all the amazing women, organizers, and volunteers behind Women’s Run PH Davao. 💛
