Daily Devotion: January 1, 2012
Mark Chapters 10, 11, and 12.
Message:
1: Jesus drove out demons and even cursed a fig tree that withered. This is telling us simply that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE through CHRIST. Jesus said:
Mark 11:23-24
New International Version (NIV)
23 “Truly[a] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
If we really want something so much we just have to believe and never doubt. Eventually, He will give it. God knows our heart's desires before we even ask. Remember that WE ARE GOD'S BELOVED. And if we are His beloved he will give us what we want like a Dad to a spoiled brat. If prayers are unanswered, think that sometimes God gives us our desires in a hard way. We just have to always remember, if it's meant for you then you will have it.. and just always remember that God ONLY WANTS THE BEST FOR US.
2: Jesus was asked if it is lawful for a man to divorce a wife. He was asked why Moses permitted divorce. But He said it is because OUR HEARTS WERE HARD. But here is what He said:
Mark 10:6-9
New International Version (NIV)
6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’[a] 7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,[b] 8 and the two will become one flesh.’[c] So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
The message just told me simply to WAIT! For me to be sure that whoever it is that's meant for me, no one should ever separate us.. and we will both live till God say so.
3: How hard it is to enter the God's Kingdom?
It is not just enough to follow His commandments. But whoever it is who leaves everything behind to follow Him will surely be rewarded. Man's salvation is impossible... but with God, everything is POSSIBLE.
Mark 10:29-30
New International Version (NIV)
29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.
Mark 9:48
New International Version (NIV)
Promise: As promised, if we believe, He will give us our hearts desire and for those who follow Him, He prepared reward for us in His Kingdom.... and the promise of salvation.
Warning: When there is no light, you will gain death and enemies will conquer over you. So seek for God's light.
Message: For those who fear God, they seek for His wisdom... for foolish they refuse to listen.
Command: Repent and rebuke, listen to the wise and don't act like fools.
Warning: For fools, disaster will strike you and will destroy you.
Promise: whoever listens will be in safety and be peaceful, without fear.
Any trouble I couldn't bear
