Reina de Sta. Maria Crowned 2nd Reina de Davao Occidental 2017
We had a long but worthy 4-hour drive. After sitting still, we arrived to a very crowded place. Last October 27, we set foot to Malita Municipal Gym to witness the 2nd Reina de Davao Occidental Coronation Night.
The gym was filled with supporters and fans of the candidates who fought to be the 2nd Reina de Davao Occidental. Five different Municipalities sent their most beautiful with a heart representatives to fight for the title. Jenelyn Cawa from Saranggani, Christine Joyce Sering from Jose Abad Santos, Mary Elvi Dizon from Sta. Maria, El Shaphir Maresha Manliguez from Don Marcelino and Malita's very own Princess Grace Calvo.
Reina de Davao Occidental is an event showcasing beauty, brains and fashion all at once. Ms. Alice Dixon and ABS CBN regional host, Mr Joey Conception were the emcees of the night. With wit and elegance, Mary Elvi Dizon was crowned as the 2nd Reina de Davao Occidental on October 27, 2017. She stunningly competed with the other five contestants from different municipalities of Davao Occidental. Each candidate walked proudly in their resort's wear, showing off their municipalities through a video presentation.
Also part of the event is a fashion show and a designer competition called Trajes de Reinas Avant Garde Gown Competition.
To serenade the beautiful candidates and peoplen of Davao Occidental, Vin Abrenica hyped the crowd with two song numbers.
Davao Occidental Governor Claude Bautista gave a short message congratulating and thanking those who took part and made the event successful.
Nicky de Asis won Grand Champion of the Trajes de Reinas Avant Garde Gown Competition.
Among the judges were Avel Bacudio, Kyle Velino and Daiana Menezes. The event concluded hailing Mary Elvi "Met" Dizon as the new Reina de Davao Occidental!
