Whose Child Are You?

Blissful day everyone!

Now I know you've heard about this a lot of times. On booklets, books, on T.V., etc. But I just have to remind you... on some point I was convicted on writing about this. And if this is the first time you've read about this, then keep reading. It's not an accident. You are meant to be reading this.

Question: If you will die today, where do you think you'll end up?

Well, of course all of us wanna end up in heaven, I wouldn't ask you that. But do you know how to get there after you die? Are you sure you'd end up there?

Try ask yourself that...

I know one thing. Only the sons and daughters of God are allowed to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

But how?

In Romans 3:23

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

In Proverbs 20:9

Who can say, "I have kept my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?"

So if we are all sinners, how can we be considered sons and daughters of God?

Well, for you to know, SIN separated us from God.

Here's one truth...

1 John 3:4-10

⁴ Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. ⁵ But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. ⁶ No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

⁷ Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. ⁸ The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. ⁹ No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. ¹⁰This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.

But...

John 3:16 says,

For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

God so loved us that He wants us to be redeemed from sin. He gave us His Son. His son who became human, tempted, trialed, rejected, crucified, SUFFERED TOO MUCH, even forsaken by His own Father, so to fulfill His purpose to save us from our sins, to save us from eternal death.

AND HE IS THE ONLY WAY BACK TO GOD.

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Now the good news is..

John 1:12

Yet to all who receive Him, to those who believed in His name, HE GAVE THE RIGHT TO BECOME CHILDREN OF GOD.

It is not enough just to know these truths...

IT IS DONE. JESUS ALREADY DIED FOR YOU ON THE CROSS...

and we must do our part to be saved and to claim that we are children of God. We must acknowledge what Jesus had done for us.

We must receive Him as our Lord and Savior.

It is a gift, so we must receive it.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; not by works, so that no one can boast.

Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our livesto forgive our sins and to make us the kind of people He wants us to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for our sins is not enough. Nor it is enough to have an emotional experience. We receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of the will.
